My Life as a Dog, a scan of Frank Yerby’s 1959 novel Jarrett’s Jade that sees the artist’s namesake as the protagonist, exploits and exposes the fields of art and narrative. The tension between the two is provoked by the inclusion of the artist’s signature, encouraging the potential for a new narrative in a context where you would expect to find something visual.
